Following a battery change the CD player in the car won't allow you to load discs - there's a physical 'bar' to inserting a disc into the slot.
The problem seems to be that the CD changer gets into a state when power is cut and then won't accept any new discs.
The solution is to open the main fuse box (inside the glovebox) and remove fuse 53, a 15A fuse that feeds the CD changer. Wait for 10 minutes, replace the fuse and then turn the audio head unit on - the CD changer will cycle through the 6 disc positions then reset itself & you're good to go.
